Let’s talk about Jenny from Forrest Gump as this character has also a lot going on in her life. So let me take you through her life the life of Forrest Gump Jenny.

Full name of Jenny was Jenny Curran born on July 16th, 1945 in Taylor , Arkansas. When she was 5 years of age her mother died and she was then raised by her father who was a farmer, who used to abuse Jenny and her sister physically and sexually. But Forrest being a simple boy thought that she has a loving father who always kisses and touches Jenny and her sister but that was not what he saw.

Jenny and Forrest meet when they were going on the bus to school for their first day and she invites him to sit with her, which Forrest accepted as other students won’t let him sit with them.

During the early years, Jenny was the only friend of Forrest. After school the two often sit under a large oak tree. They both teach each other something, Forrest used to teach Jenny how to swing in the branches while Jenny teaches Forrest how to read. When local bullies show up on bikes to tease and throw rocks at Forrest, Jenny urges him to run, screaming “Run, Forrest, run!” That advice of her leads Forrest’s leg braces breaking off and him running across town, literally kicking up dust as he passes.

When one day Jenny didn’t showed up at school, Forrest goes to her farm house to see what’s wrong and have she not attended school on that day. Jenny’s drunken father pursues Jenny and Forrest, but they found a cornfield and hid in it, and her father was not able to find them, presumably because he’s too drunk to do so. A frightened Jenny instructs Forrest to kneel down and help her pray to God. She prays and repeats, “Dear God, make me a bird, so that I can fly far, far, far away from here.”

Soon after when Jenny’s father get arrested, she was sent to live with her grandmother in a trailer nearby Forrest’s Home. Occasionally she would sneak out in the middle of the night and stay with Forrest, hopping into bed with him. Claiming she was scared but never revealed to Forrest what she was scared off.

Forrest believed this was because of her grandma’s mean dog, but the film implies that it was likely she was scared her father was either going to break out of jail or get released from jail and try to find her and abuse her some more. She was frighten like hell and no one other than Jenny knew how she felt about it and what she was going thought as she was not even able to share her thoughts with Forrest Gump movie.

Through the high school they remain close to each other with Jenny continuing to urge Forrest to run, screaming “Run Forest, run!” when bullies pursued him in a truck. After completing their high schools both attended different colleges. Jenny was in an all girl’s college where Forrest used to visit her every now and then on one such visit Forrest ends up beating up her boyfriend, Billy, when Forrest misinterprets a playful make out session for Billy hurting Jenny.

After which Billy leaves upset saying the two should split. Jenny forgives Forrest and invites him to her dorm room where they spent some time and laughed. The two are once again separated as Forrest enters boot camp. (Forrest Gump Jenny)

Something happened with Jenny which made her expelled from the college and she got into performing and singing in a strip club under the name Bobbie Dylan. While Forrest’s visit to see Jenny he again saw her from a man grabbing Jenny’s legs during her performance to which she got angry on Forrest and was fired from her work.

After this Jenny scolds Forrest on always protecting her and for the first time Forrest admits that he loves her but Jenny rebukes his claim, as she doesn’t believe Forrest is capable of knowing what love is. And hitches a ride from a stranger in a pickup truck but before leaving Forrest tells her that he is going to Vietnam. Listening this Jenny got worried and told Forrest that if he ever get scared in Vietnam then he should start running. He promises this to her and Jenny leaves in a truck.

While Forrest was he Vietnam he used to write to Jenny daily, which never reached her as she was homeless singing on the street. She and Forrest are reunited after many years in Washington DC during an anti-Vietnam protest.

One day, partly in an attempt to rebuild her life, Jenny arrives at Forrest’s home unannounced and stays with him for a while. She sleeps excessively prompting Forrest to remark that it is as if she hasn’t slept in years. They would go for a walk daily and have some conversations. On a fine day when they were on a way Forrest and Jenny reached to the house where she used to live in her childhood and that made her remembered how hurtful her childhood was.

To release her anger she started throwing her shoes and rocks at the house yelling “How dare you” and “How could you.” And in this process Forrest came to know of what Jenny was going throw and told her that “Sometimes there are not enough rocks.” They shared each other’s company for few week and one fine evening Forrest proposes to Jenny to which Jenny said. “You don’t want to marry me” and Forrest exclaims that, “He is not a smart man, but he definitely know what love is” before stepping outside. That night they spend some time where Jenny tells him that she loves him too. The following morning she leaves in taxi.

Her departure crushes Forrest, and in utter pain and despair, Forrest Gump movie back and forth across the United States. When people he encounters ask him why he’s doing it, he just says that he felt like running — and he clearly does, since he doesn’t just run across the country once, but at least four times. A person whose words were used verbatim in the film when Forrest says “When I got tired, I slept. When I got hungry, I ate. When I had to go, you know, I went.”

After some time Jenny writes a letter to Forrest asking him to meet her in Georgia. When he came to meet her, Jenny introduced her son Forrest Forrest Gump and tells him that he is named after his father to which he says whether she know any other Forrest. Jenny told Forrest that he was the father. This sends him in a shock.

Later Jenny reveals that she was ill and was suffering from an unknown virus which has no cure. After which he asks Jenny and Forrest Jr. to live with him as he will take care of them. Jenny asked Forrest to marry her to which he agreed gladly and they both got married in Forrest’s house.

Jenny dies on March 22nd, 1982 (a Monday, but Forest mistakenly remembers it as a Saturday Morning). Her grave was placed under the oak tree from their childhood.

As Forrest leaves the grave, a flock of birds fly off. It is implied that at this moment, Forrest understands God has finally answered Jenny’s childhood prayer to be made a bird and fly away.
